Wade Horrocks brings an historic perspective and pragmatic sensibility to all his work to meet the needs and aspirations of his clients. His scholarly approach to golf course design includes a deep respect for the history of the game enabling him to reinterpret Golden Age design principles into a modern idiom.
Wade’s diverse skillset includes contributions to several award-winning projects bridging the disciplines of design, agronomy and project management. Following his lifelong passion for golf course architecture, Wade began his career with Browning Horrocks Golf Design where his designs included Copper Point Golf Course – Ridge and Point courses, Coyote Creek Golf Resort, Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club - Hawk course expansion, and Blue Devil Golf Course, which was nominated as “Best New Golf Course in Canada” by SCOREGolf magazine.
In 2013, Wade joined groundcubed where he consults with several of Canada’s most prestigious clubs including Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club, Earl Grey Golf Club, Country Hills Golf Club, the Glencoe Golf and Country Club, and Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club. His breadth of experience ranges from conceptual design and approval submissions to design implementation and contract administration for new golf course builds and renovation projects.
Wade holds an honours degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Idaho where he was awarded Distinguished Graduate in addition to receiving the American Society of Landscape Architects’ Honor Award for excellence in academic achievement. He is a registered Landscape Architect in the Province of Alberta and a member of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.
A recognized leader in his field, Wade frequently lectures at professional symposiums and academic institutions including the Architecture and Design Now series at the University of Lethbridge.
James Beebe brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in golf course construction, renovation, and high-level course management to his role as Technical Advisor at groundcubed.
As the longtime Golf Course Superintendent at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club, James led the planning and execution of numerous major renovation projects and the construction of nine new holes. His leadership helped the club earn national recognition, including hosting three Canadian Women’s Opens—one of which was an LPGA major.
James is widely respected for his agronomic knowledge, practical project management expertise, and collaborative leadership style. His real-world experience navigating the complexities of course development and renovation makes him an invaluable resource to architects, owners, and superintendents alike.
A lifetime member of the AGSA, CGSA, and GCSAA, James has also served as President of both the AGSA and CGSA. His contributions to the industry have been recognized with the AGSA Distinguished Service Award and the CGSA Superintendent of the Year Award.
At GroundGame, James supports the team and its clients by providing expert guidance on agronomy, construction methods, and operational planning—helping ensure that each project achieves success.

Jonathan founded groundcubed in 2011 with the mission of bringing community stories to life through natural and built environments and solving problems big and small to design and build beautiful spaces for people – he brought Wade on as principal and lead golf course architect in 2013 to uphold this mission in the course design context. Jonathan brings a team-first, positive energy approach to leading complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams and has contributed to important public realm and park designs across Canada. His remarkably diverse experience includes the new Scotia Place hockey arena and associated streetscape design and new 6th Street underpass in Calgary’s Culture and Entertainment District, athletic parks, libraries and recreation centres, transit stations, new community parks and innovative urban park redevelopments, affordable housing and mixed-use developments and master planning and amenity enhancement projects in provincial parks.
Jonathan has a personal passion for the game of golf and has played courses across North America. He has a deep appreciation and excitement for the sport and natural beauty of courses along with an understanding of the technical design elements and the attention, care and artful touch required to achieve courses of the highest quality that are also challenging and fun.

Bronte is a landscape architect and planner with over ten years of experience in the industry. She has a passion for design and creating landscapes for people to enjoy and recreate in. Her project work covers all phases, scales and typologies from master planning and visioning to detailed design and implementation. Since joining groundcubed in 2015, she’s worked on assignments for Alberta Parks, the town of Banff, the hospitality sector, affordable housing providers and on transit-oriented development sites.
Based in the Canadian Rockies, Bronte’s approach to design is focused on working with nature in globally recognized landscapes. Her work in hospitality emphasizes guest experience and how visitors experience outdoor spaces to create memorable, comfortable, and accessible outdoor environments. She is detail oriented with a focus on constantly expanding her skills. She is genuine, creative and strives for a balance between science and nature in every project.
Bronte holds an honors degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph. She also has experience and a personal interest in the golf world. Previous to her work as a landscape architect, she worked with Golf Canada (RCGA) for many years supporting on the planning and hosting of professional championship tournaments.

Tom Brown has a multidisciplinary background, drawing from experience as an artist, designer, organic gardener, and as a deeply passionate player of Golf in all its forms. He brings a unique approach to projects, using his experience to view projects through an ecological, aesthetic and experiential lens.
A recent graduate from the University of Calgary’s Landscape Architecture program, where he made the Dean’s list, Tom joined groundcubed in 2023. Since then, he has had the opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of projects, both on and off the golf course, giving him growing experience in all phases of work. Tom has specific technical expertise in GIS, digital visualization and analysis, 3D modelling, providing technical as well as design support to the team throughout the design process.
Through his background in public art, Tom has enjoyed success on the global stage, including an appearance on the Today Show, the CBC/Netflix show Best in Miniature, and numerous other features and appearances. He carries these experiences with him in his professional life, applying the insights he gained along the way to facilitate great outcomes for clients and golfers alike.
